Session Description
Long-term effective nature conservation is achieved by actors working together to deliver biodiversity outcomes for people and for nature. Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPs and LCs)have played an outsized role in nature conservation and will continue to do so as we look towards 2030; their unique contributions and challenges need to be acknowledged and addressed if we are to deliver the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) in an inclusive, just manner. In this session, leaders from different sectors will facilitate a discussion on how to elevate IPs and LCs in the GBF target specific to their field of work.
