Biography

Hope Ndhlovu is the Founder and CEO of Tuverl, a company revolutionising public transport in Africa through technology and data science. Tuverl’s mission is to make public transport affordable and accessible for millions of commuters. The company supports informal transport operators by offering zero-collateral asset financing for climate-friendly hybrid and electric vehicles, allowing them to pay off vehicles over 24 months on a rent-to-own basis. This helps operators expand their fleets and optimise operations, starting in Zimbabwe and Kenya. Tuverl addresses climate change by introducing electric and hybrid vehicles into public transport fleets, reducing carbon emissions and supporting SDG 13 (Climate Action). By promoting cleaner energy sources and reducing dependence on fossil fuels, Tuverl lowers the environmental impact of urban transportation. The company also aligns with SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) by improving urban mobility, using technology to optimise routes and manage fleets. This reduces congestion and air pollution, contributing to sustainable urban development and enhancing the quality of life for millions. A Harvard University graduate with a degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Hope Ndhlovu is passionate about using technology to improve lives across Africa. Tuverl's work has earned recognition from the Harvard President’s Innovation Challenge, the World Bank Youth Summit, and the Georgetown Africa Business Conference.
