Biography

Safiatou Diallo, Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development of the Republic of Guinea, is an environmental specialist with solid expertise in the implementation of government environmental policies.

Drawing on her know-how in sanitation and quality of life management built up over the course of her career, she successfully contributed to the Cartagena Conference of the Parties on Biosafety, held in Brazil, Germany, Japan and Canada respectively. She has also contributed to the implementation of several environmental projects, particularly in the field of sanitation and quality of life, as well as to the reform of this sector.

Diallo holds an engineering degree in geology from the Faculty of Mines and Geology at the University of Tamakènè, Boké, Republic of Guinea. She has a diploma in the study of Roc Blanc silver mineralisation from the Ecole Nationale de l'industrie minérale in Rabat, Morocco. She honed her skills in the field of sanitation following several training courses and internships, including training in solid and hazardous waste management in Beijing, China, and training in sanitary and phytosanitary standards in the United States of America.
