Biography

Yara Yousry is a senior Architecture Engineering student at The American University in Cairo (AUC) and a Research Assistant at Engaged Sustainable Futures (ESF). Passionate about sustainability and social impact, she is also the co-founder of Bahtinet, a social enterprise transforming banana fibers into eco-friendly fishing nets to reduce plastic waste and protect marine life. Yara has been recognized as an award-winning entrepreneur and changemaker, with a strong commitment to environmental conservation and community development. Her work bridges innovation, sustainability, and architecture to create a lasting positive impact.
