Aesuk Kang

Director general Kang Aesuk is a highly respected senior female manager with over 30 years of experience in advancing public policy across various sectors in Jeju Province, including planning, budgeting, environment, employment, welfare, and investment promotion. As the Chief Administrator of Environmental Policy for Jeju, she is dedicated to the sustainable preservation of the island, which is designated as Multiple Internationally Designated Areas (MIDAS). She has also served as the head (director general) of the Airport Expansion Support Division, and the director of the Jobs Division of the Jeju Provincial Government. She also held the position of the head of the Planning and Budget Division in Seogwipo City, south of Jeju Island, where she oversaw major issues and budgeting. She joined the public service in 1991 after earning a bachelor's degree in English education from Jeju National University.
