Biography

Angelica Nunez, a Mexican national, is the Practice Manager of the Global Programs Unit in the Urban, Resilience, and Land Global Practice of the World Bank, based in Washington, DC. She joined the World Bank in 2007 as an Urban Specialist in the Latin America Region and has since led investment and policy operations in urban development in several countries including Colombia, Mexico, Central America, Argentina, Egypt, South Africa, Turkey, and India. She specializes in affordable housing markets and innovative finance for urban redevelopment. Most recently, she was the Lead Operations Adviser for the Sustainable Development in the Eastern and Southern Africa Region, which has the largest lending portfolio at the World Bank. Prior to joining the World Bank, Ms. Nunez worked in project finance and asset management in London, and earlier as part of the economic research department of the Mexican Central Bank. She has a BSc in Finance and Accounting and an MSc in Economics and another MSc in Economic History.
