Vice-Minister for Global Environmental Affairs

Mr. MATSUZAWA Yutaka has served as Vice-Minister for Global Environmental Affairs since July 2023. He is in charge of MOEJ’s international affairs, including global environmental conservation. He represents MOEJ in international dialogues and negotiations.
He held prominent positions in MOE Japan including the Director General of Global Environment Bureau, Director-General of Environmental Management Bureau and others. He has attended various international meetings representing Japan for environment, climate change, including G7, G20, and COP. He obtained master’s degree from the Graduate School of Engineering of the University of Tokyo in 1989.
