Valérie D’Hoedt Meyer is Director of Global Knowledge Management, Learning and Library Services at IUCN. She launched the IUCN Academy in 2021, a strategic initiative offering education opportunities designed to empower leaders, practitioners and businesses to navigate sustainability challenges, meet biodiversity targets, and align with global environmental standards. Her team is also spearheading the development of IUCN Knowledge Management Strategy. Before joining IUCN, she worked in the education sector for more than 15 years. In her previous appointment as Deputy Director of Executive Education at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, she led the reflection on innovation and developed new business models for education programmes. She was also Director of the Executive Master in Environmental Governance and Policy Making and led the development and implementation of knowledge and education projects over four continents. Valérie has 15 years of experience in practicing and lecturing on methodologies fostering strategic thinking and innovation. She started her career with the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs before joining the European Space Agency as Contracts Officer for Science Programmes. Valérie is a Belgian national, she holds an LL.M from Queen Mary and Westfield College - University of London and a Licence en droit from the Université catholique de Louvain.
